That is the thing I hated, I bought and resold these, and didn't find out what the quest was untill I saw this post today. Now I'm going to stock up on these before they nerf them. I recomend you guys do the same, its going to happen and everyone knows it.
But, I did tell people they wern't the HoD axes.

of course its going to get nerfed, i told people to report it to A-Net now its up to them to setup the patch to remove it for good.
Or the better suggestion (peoples going to hate me for this) is to make ALL collector items to be unmodable. Meaning the mods and stats is what you can get, you can't change it or add to it.
Let see what A-Net decide to do with these collector stuffs.

That would be a good thing, the collector weapons are better then the drops, its kindof stupid! Makes it where people take advantage of having information.

Taking advantage of uniformed people may or may not be unethical, but it is not criminal. It is up to consumer groups and invidual research to protect themselves from scams or abuse.
I know players who have sold collector weapons at outrageous prices, but I personally view it as an ethical grey area.

I can understand being mad if you said, "This is the HoD axe", and sell it for anything over 50k, it can be called a scam. Those people deserve what they get in the long run. For one, noone will speak highly of them.

Taking advantage of uniformed people is criminal.
That's why laws obligate food companies must put Nutrition Facts on food boxes and drug companies put Drug facts on drugs.
Its also why car companies have to take sold cars back from consumers when they find flaws in their products.

People that have that much plat should have played the game long enough to know the difference.
If you don't know the diference, and do have that much money, you probably got it off Ebay, so whatever.

Wrong, there are consumer rights groups that initiate those bills that eventually become those laws.
A baseball card is worth $5 and I sell it to some 10 year old rich kid for $100. I can't be taken to jail for that.
Likewise if I buy your $10,000 car for $5,000 I won't be taken to jail either.

There are two flaws in your arguments:
1) Lots of money = long time playing = knowledgeable about everything. Wrong.
2) Lots of money = eBay. Wrong.

There are laws already. This is critical.
So you have to inform ppl about what you selling here.
Like a realtor must tell housebuyers everything about the house he/she is selling, must tell every good history and bad history of this house even buyers never asked. Or he/she lose license
I will stop here since its not a legal issue debate forum, PMs welcome

You ignored my two examples. Laws are created by the people, or in the terms of GW the players. We cannot create any laws within the game, A.net makes the laws there.
A realtor must pass a real estate exam and be licensed. There are laws and regulations in place. Trades on these forums or within GW are not between licensed professionals, they are between person to person and therefore these laws do not apply.
If I sell you a piece of crap baseball card for $100, I am not guilty of any criminal act.
Now replace piece of crap baseball card with HoD imitation axe and $100 with 200k, you have our current dillema.
We are arguing whether or not it is ethical to sell imitation axes for 200k each.
If you need more explanation as to the difference between whether something is ethical and/or legal, please refer to:

Hmmmm... the -50 Grim Cesta from AC still sells for 3-10k, depending on the buyer, and is still available from a quest. Yet selling it for 3-10k does not mean scamming.
Now, the way I see it, someone willing to pay 200k for any axe that ain't even max dmg is out of their gourd.

Well seeing as most of this thread was about me I figured I post something.
For one I had no clue where these axes came from. I had been looking for quite some time for 55 life axes for pvp and someone in my guild got ahold of me and let me know he had a ton of them. I bought them from him for 10 ecto's a piece and decided to sell the leftovers here to help better the other pvpr's in the community.
I knew they were not the Henge Axe and as such never advertised them as such. Every single person who bought one was also informed that they were not the HOD axe and that from what I knew they were a nerf from per-searing. I never had any reason to doubt what my guildee said. As for the screeenshot posted in my thread, that was added by Savio not me , without my permission and I removed when I noticed it sitting there so to anyone who was mislead by that I am sorry.
As far as scamming people, you all know very well that I don;t need to do that, and *IF* I wanted to scam I could ahve gotten some of the best items and or insane ammounts of gold from the trades I moderated so again I say I am no scammer.
To the people who bought axes and want to say I lied/scammed or whatever I say to you the following:
1.) I never said it was a HOD axe.
2.) You saw the item before you bought it
3.)I was just as mis-informed as you and as such am pissed off as well
I know the few people who sent pm's off to the Admins as well as a few others here will be extremely happy to see that I am no longer a Moderator. Congradulations guys you finally won! The forums are in good hands and hopefully you guys don;t make the remaining moderators jobs to hard

I don't want to sound like i'm defending Nef for this but...
I said before i say again.... For god sake we have eyes... peoples.. EYES! We look before we trade things is that hard to asked? Are we that lazy of a generation, we just put in the items and golds into the trade windows and hit accept.. if you do that and got scammed, i won't give a damn or pity for you since its your fault for not looking before trade is finished.
Now for this axe situtation
He didn't posted this as a HoD axes (from looking at Nef's sell post) secondly, i see more morons selling this type of axes on different places as HoD axes. Shouldn't those idiots get reported? why are we bashing on nef just because someone found out what this axe is made from? So we're going to blame one person for scammed while others out there is selling this as a HoD axe?
But i have to agree, some people just want certain type of weapons or mods and if they got money to spend they'll do it. So you can't blame them for buying a collector axe with +55 health mod for 200k or more.
*end ranting*

Nef..I am sorry to not side with you on this but,Your first post said HoD axes..I even saw savio edit it..And you said they were your guildies and you said he stocked up on them before some sort of nerfing? So I don't understand..shouldn't you kick that guildy out your guild for scaming you like that? And I remember when you were buying massloads of +30 Hp grips a while ago..If a mod deletes this post that means something is up..and since WHEN have you seen a +25 health 6-16 item in pre-searing? Never...
People need to remember this:Money Changes Everything.

I am not entirely clear about this situation with Nef and his guildie. But I can say for sure, that when I bought the axe from Nef, he did NOT inform me it was not the HoD axe (as mentioned above in his post).
Then I was told that his guildie "picked the over-powered stuff up" before the update and that he made a fortune. Again I have no reason to doubt Nef.
In the end, 200k to me is not a lot. And I have not ranted yet, I am just stating the contridictions I see in this so called, "scam".
